FAM (FELLOWSHIP IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE)
A 6 months training course which includes intensive hands-on training and online study.
Designed for MBBS, DVD and MD doctors who want basic & advanced training in aesthetic medicine to set up their own practice. The doctor(s) are supposed to attend the dermatology OPD to observe a wide variety of dermatology and aesthetics patients. These doctors will be allotted patients and they will have the opportunity to follow up their cosmetic patients to keep track of their work and outcome of the given treatment. Doctors will be seeing patients (under observation), will prescribe treatments required for the different skin conditions, and perform various aesthetic procedures ranging from basic to advanced.
The FAM training includes lectures, interactive sessions and practical sessions on various topics like:
Skin Anatomy and Physiology, Basic skin lesions, bacterial infections, cutaneous fungal infections, cutaneous viral infections, Parasitic infestations, Papulosquamous diseases- psoriasis, lichen planus etc, Eczemas, Connective tissue disorders, Pigmentary disorders, Acne, Hair disorders, Nail disorders, Nutritional disorders, Basic Dermatopathology, principles of dermatological practice- Topical therapy and commonly used drugs, drug reactions, Introduction to skin surgeries, Cosmetology, cosmeceuticals, Chemical Peels, Dermabrasion, hair removal, lasers, Scar removal, Pigmentary abnormalities, Facial hair treatment, Injectables treatments, fillers, facial rejuvenation, threads, medical facials, Growth Factors therapy, mesotherapy, derma-abrasion, Microneedling – Dermaroller, Dermapen, Undereye dark circle treatment, Electro Cautery, Radio frequency, Electrolysis , basic and advanced lasers: Diode, Q switch Nd Yag, IPL, Microneedling RF laser,Fractional CO2 laser
etc.
In addition to ongoing regular training, the students get to attend the 7 days intensive hands on training course, every month, for 4 months of their tenure at the institute. This helps the students to refine their skills and knowledge over the time and helps clear any doubts that be. Also during the 4 month tenure, the students get a clear idea of what area of Aesthetic medicine they want to focus on.
The full time students also will attend the regular dermatology OPD in the attached Skin and Hair clinic. This will also entitle them to receive a Certificate of observer-ship in Dermatology at IIIAM, under the direct guidance of the director- Dr. LK Desai.
Eligibility : Minimum Qualification : MBBS and above from a recognized medical college.
FFA (FELLOWSHIP IN FACIAL ASTHETICS)
A 6 months training course which includes intensive hands on training and online study.
Fellowship in facial asthetics specially designed fellowship. it includes 8 days intensive handson training in various procedure including
dermal fillers.
Designed for medical doctors who want to develop skills and upgrade their knowledge in aesthetics and clinical cosmetology,
FFA is a 6 months online course which includes 8 days practical sessions in which students are given intensive hands-on
training to deal with cosmetology patients. The course includes high-end cosmetic procedures including LASERs,
Growth Factors therapy, Injectables, threads among others. Students will be guided on how to start their
Cosmetology set-up like buying the right equipment and instruments, marketing management, finding cost effective
distributors and vendors, Job Assistance etc. After successful completion of this course the doctors will be equipped
with sound knowledge and skills to independently use various aesthetic procedures for their patients in their
professional practice.
Duration :- 7 Days hands on practical sessions - 6 months online modules
A PGDCC certificate is issued after the successful completion of the 7 day practical sessions. The signatory authority for the Certificate is the director of the IIAM - Dr LK Desai, MD, Dermatology.
